Northern Exposure was the 2019 study abroad reporting trip undertaken by students at the University of Montana. The effort involved thousands of miles of travel along the Rock Mountains, exploring the environmental impact of the Canadian tar sands oil exploration. Their final stories were not published, but there are several reports from the road documenting their reporting.
